- Commencement Salary: $104,838 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About the Role
The Research Fellow will implement and
conduct high quality scientific research and report on research
outcomes in line with the goals and milestones of the Cytokine
Receptor Laboratory1, facilitating collaboration and translation of
research findings. Specifically, the identification, characterisation
and translational development of novel antibodies specific for a
mutant form of the CALR protein.
About The Centre for Cancer Biology
The Centre for Cancer Biology (CCB) is an alliance
between the University of South Australia and CALHN and is co-located
with other cancer-focussed researchers within a purpose-built building
in Adelaide’s Biotech and Medical Precinct. The CCB studies the
fundamental causes of cancer in order to find new ways to prevent and
treat the disease and is a recognised hub for innovative science
leading to breakthrough therapies.
Core Responsibilities
- Contribute to planning of research
by participating in and organising research planning discussions - Contribute to the execution of
research by designing, performing and assessing research studies - Contribute to the dissemination of
new knowledge and concepts arising from research activities by
preparing scientific papers - Contribute to a safe and ethical
working environment by complying with human ethics, animal ethics,
privacy and other appropriate guidelines
Essential Skills and Experience
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- Experience, as judged by grants and
publications, in relevant areas of research and a substantial
knowledge of laboratory procedures relevant to the research project/s - Demonstrated previous experience in
the generation, analysis, handling, development and
characterisation of antibody reagents from a range of different species - Demonstrated experience in
recording, analysing, presenting and disseminating research to
stakeholders including competency in the preparation of papers for
high quality publications or posters for conference presentations - Demonstrated previous experience and
competency in the management of research projects, collaborations
and research governance
