RESEARCH FELLOW, LAW & POLICY, University Research (22500575780929)

The mission of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research is to convene researchers and practitioners from various disciplines to figure out novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice. We foster exhaustive racial research, research-based policy innovation, data-driven educational and advocacy campaigns, and narrative-change initiatives. We are working toward building an antiracist society that ensures equity and justice for all. The Center is currently searching to hire a Law and Policy Fellow.

The Law and Policy Fellow will support the Model Legislation Project by: 

  • Contributing to a strategic plan that establishes short and long term goals of the Project, and identifies priorities and tactics for achieving those goals
  • Conducting background research and collaborating with Center staff to transform the Centers research into evidence-based, antiracist model bills and agency guidance
  • Building relationships with policymakers who are seeking to advance racial equity
  • Tracking the adoption and implementation of the Centers model bills
  • Submitting comments to agencies regarding proposed rules and regulations that pertain to the Centers legislative areas of focus
  • Producing materials to educate the public about the Centers model bills
  • Presenting the Centers legislative projects to a range of audiences, including legislators, academics, government agencies, the press, and the public
  • Contributing to related Policy Office projects, including its Law, Policy, and Justice initiatives, as assigned
  • Supervising student interns

Master’s Degree required

1-3 years of experience required
