We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented researcher for a post–doctoral research position in Self-supervised Learning, with application to audio classification at the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The position is available through an EPSRC funded project in the area of automatic audio analysis.

About the role
The project will offer an opportunity for the successful candidate to work in an inspiring environment at the University’s Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing, one of the UK’s premier research centres in machine perception under the supervision of Professor Josef Kittler.
Your task will be to work on audio classification using AI learning techniques developed for computer vision. The aim will be to investigate the impact of self-supervised pretraining on the downstream audio classification tasks. The duties will include reporting the results in a top-ranking journal.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic researcher with a PhD degree, proficient in deep learning. Knowledge of audio analysis and processing will be highly advantageous, as is experience in machine learning, information fusion, statistical analysis and handling of large datasets. You need to have good programming and experimental skills. You should have experience of C/C++ and GPU/CUDA implementation.
