Research Fellow in Robot Kit Development

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7.

This RA post will be held at UCL, Department of Computer Science, as part of the ESPRC ICT project on “Bio-Robots: Crawl, Jump, and Slither!”

The main duties and responsibilities are to design, develop, and maintain robotics kits throughout the project.

The role is grant funded by EPSRC and is available until 30th June 2024 in the first instance.

The main requirements are: 

  • – Minimum of MSc in Robotics/Computing
  • – Evidence of strong expertise in robotics.
  • – Interest in animals, physiology, biology.
  • – Interest in schools engagement
  • – Experience with coding (e.g., Python).
  • – Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to liaise with young students.
  • – Robot maintenance/repair skills.
  • – Experience with low-level motor control and sensor design.
