Research Fellow in Immersive Multisensory Experiences

Full time, Fixed Term: This role is funded to 30th November 2024 in the first instance.

The Multisensory devices group is an interdisciplinary research group with a core interest in creating new forms of interactive multimodal user experiences through the design and implementation of novel sensors and actuators.

Duties for the Research Fellow would include:

• Conduct user research through applying appropriate methodologies both in a laboratory and real-world environments, combining qualitative and quantitative methods/measures.
• Design novel digital multisensory experiences in mixed reality environments, collaboratively across the project team and through iterative user testing.

This role is funded to 30th November 2024 in the first instance.

The position would be suitable for someone with experience and interest in human-computer interaction, multisensory perception, and novel emerging digital immersive technologies. The person would have expertise in user-centred methodology and the ability to carry out user research (lab, field), including recruitment, data collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, as well as the ability to develop and implement study designs, procedures and measures in real and virtual environments (e.g. Unity, C#, Python programming skills).
