We have an opportunity to appoint a talented and ambitious Research Fellow in Epidemiology in the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis (CfE), within the School of Biological Sciences, University of Manchester, UK. The post-holder for this role will conduct cluster analyses to identify and define high impact chronic pain phenotypes, to establish the validity and reproducibility of the clusters, and to examine the transitions between clusters over time.
We are seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher with first class statistical analysis skills to join us. To address our objectives you will help us identify the candidate variables for phenotyping, explore multiple clustering approaches and make recommendations on appropriate clustering methods based on the data structure, and implement appropriate methods to assess cluster validation and reproducibility, and between cluster transitions over time. Prior experience in epidemiology would be well suited for this role, although we encourage and welcome applications from enthusiastic people with a background in biostatistics, mathematics, and other numerate disciplines. You will be based in the CfE, a vibrant multidisciplinary research centre. You should have a thorough understanding of epidemiological concepts, of applied statistical methods, and have a strong commitment to Open Science.
