YOUR TEAM 

You would be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where electronics, mechanical and software engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The Humanoid Sensing and Perception research line coordinated by Lorenzo Natale focuses on humanoid robotics and in particular AI, machine vision, tactile sensing and software architectures for robotics.

You will join SPOKE 2 of the RAISE innovation ecosystem, funded by the MUR (Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca). In particular your activities will be part of Work Package 1 which aims to develop technologies to assist frail people (be them elders, patients with disabilities or with chronic  diseases), provide personalized care, with improved safety with also special consideration for social interaction.

You and your team will be mainly focused on the employment for the humanoid robot R1 as both an assistive robot and a mobile sensor for monitoring the environment where the assisted person lives and his/her activities/well-being.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in robotics engineering, computer science, control engineering, computer engineering or related fields

• Knowledge of C++ and/or Python programming languages;

• Experience with software development tools in Linux;

• Experience with GIT;

• Proficient in English language (written and oral).

• Good communication skills and ability to cooperate

• Creative, proactive and collaborative attitude

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Experience with Deep Learning libraries/frameworks

• Experience with either Docker or Singularity

• Experience with ROS/ROS2

• Experience with OpenCV and computer vision libraries;

• Experience with robotic navigation;

• Experience working with real robotic systems

• Good in time and priority management

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
