The Opportunity
The Heng Laboratory in the Biomedicine Discovery Institute leads research at the interface between immunology, stem cells and cell therapy. There is an exciting opportunity for a talented Research Fellow to be part of a research program investigating the immune response to apoptotic cell death in stem cell therapy. The Research Fellow will advance our understanding of how dying cells modify immune responses, and define new approaches that can improve therapeutic outcomes. As our research intersects immunology and stem cells, the successful candidate will have strong expertise in techniques related to these fields.
About you:
We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated candidate with:
- A growing track record in immunology, stem cells or closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise in techniques related to these fields, including multi-parameter flow cytometry, immunological assays, immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy, cell culture, gene editing, molecular and cellular techniques
- Experience in mouse disease models and related techniques
- Strong communication skills, demonstrated computer literacy and the ability to generate novel ideas and solve complex problems
- The capability to guide, support and co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students
