About the Role
In this exciting role as Research Fellow (Fastening Technology), you will be part of a team of engineers from industry and work alongside researchers within the University in undertaking applied research, developing technical documents and converting research findings into design practice.
In this role, you will provide technical support for research related to fastening technology and structural engineering. The position is expected to contribute to undertaking of testing of materials and systems, perform advanced structural analysis and prepare research outputs related to specific projects undertaken on their own or with other research teams
As the Research Fellow, you will be expected to make original and innovative contributions to the advancement of research and development in the field of fastening technology and provide support to a PhD student.
The position is within the School of Engineering and has a strong research culture with a focus on industry collaboration and research leading to impact.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- A track record of quality research in fastening and experience in fastening design and technology.
- Experience in structural testing and evaluation of fastenings used in safety critical applications.
- Experience in producing quality research publications or design documents on connections for use by practicing engineers.
- Prior experience in managing research projects involving industry partners and government organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative outcomes among colleagues and the ability to liaise and work closely with diverse entities.
Qualifications
- PhD in structural engineering or equivalent with extensive experience in the fastening design and technology.
