Research Fellow (Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electronics Engineering)

The S-Lab for Advanced Intelligence invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. 

We are seeking a research fellow to join a university-level research centre collaborating with industry. The position is for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will work closely with the Principal Investigator and industry partner on research and development of novel solutions for deep learning resource scheduling. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in relevant areas.

Key Responsibilities: 

• To independently undertake research in computer vision and machine learning.
• To produce research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the wider academic community.
• To provide guidance and support to any students associated with the project.
• To attend, contribute, and where necessary lead relevant meetings.
• To undertake any other duties relevant to the programme of research.

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering with relevant years of working experience may also apply
• Strong background in deep learning and distributed systems. Prior experience in datacentre resource scheduling, container techniques and deep learning environment development is preferable.
• Strong publication records in top-tier artificial intelligence or computer systems conferences/journals, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICDCS, SoCC, OSDI, IPDPS and SOSP.
• Knowledge of scientific or engineering software like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, etc.
