  • Full-time, 12-month fixed term contract
  • Commencement Salary: $104,838 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Research Fellow will contribute to the research effort of the Future Industries Institute (FII). In particular, research for the EB Research Partnership grant titled ‘Development of a systemic antibody therapy for the treatment of epidermolysis bullosa’.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct a high-quality research project, under limited supervision and in collaboration with industry and other stakeholders
  • Design and perform in vitro and in vivo antibody characterisation studies to fulfil the requirements and milestones of the EBRP grant
  • Draft reports and/or report sections, for submission to project stakeholders
  • Under the direction of the Research Professor, provide advice to postgraduate students, internship students and visiting students in the appointee’s area of expertise
  • Prepare or contribute to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A PhD degree in cell biology in conjunction with relevant research experience
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in antibody engineering and characterisation
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in cell biology and animal models associated with wound healing
  • Expertise in histology and immunohistochemical analysis of cells and tissues
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to initiate, plan and manage projects ensuring milestones are met
  • A record of peer reviewed publications and conference presentations commensurate with opportunity
