Job Description

We seek a highly motivated and self-initiated applicant with a background in life sciences/molecular biology/ computational biology interest in and handling large biological/molecular data-sets. Have a broad understanding of several of the following areas: Microbial Genomics, metagenomics (amplicon and shotgun), transcriptomics (bacteria and plant), pangenomics and have Knowledge about. The position is within a multi-disciplinary research team, which broadly pursues microbial diversity, plant microbiome and microbe-microbe interactions. The team consists of Post-doctoral fellows, PhDs and other Research Assistants.  The full-time research fellow will be expected to participate in multiple ongoing research projects in an organized and methodical way. 
Projects in the lab utilize Systems biology approach, multi-omics data integration, statistics and network analysis

He/She will be expected to work with other team players and actively support research for other teams as and when required based on project requirements. He will be expected to plan and execute his tasks independently and contribute towards peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals. 
 

Qualifications

•    Qualifications / Discipline: Applicant should have a doctoral degree in life science/engineering/computational biology/ mathematical sciences or related fields. 

•    Skills: Systems biology approach, multi-omics data integration, statistics, network analysis, data visualization using R, knowledge about Linux and python

•    Experience: linear models, ANOVA, hypothesis testing, multi-omics data integration, statistics, network analysis, data visualization using R, understand intricacies of the data analysis. Relevant working experience in generating, processing, and interpreting systems-biology datasets demonstrated through peer-reviewed research publications.
