Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join IMPlementation and Capacity building Team (IMPaCT), which works in partnership with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) NW Coast and its member organisations. Members include regional universities, NHS, local authority and third sector organisations.

 

The postholder will work closely with the SEEDS and IMPaCT Teams with AHRh to deliver health technology assessments (including clinical trials, evidence syntheses and economic evaluations), including those prioritised through Applied Research Collaboration North-West Coast (ARC-NWC).

The successful applicant will have knowledge of education and training within a health and/or social care environment and a proven track record of successful project management including experience of setting up health and/or social care research and development projects, including applying for Ethics and R&D approval and liaising with collaborators.

A PhD (or equivalent) in a health, social care, economics or statistics topic is essential to the post as well as research skills including literature retrieval, data collection, evidence synthesis, critical appraisal, health economic evaluations and statistical modelling.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, the ability to conduct research on sensitive and emotive topics and the ability to write reports and present data at meetings and conferences.

 

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
