This position ends on August 4, 2023. Possible renewals contingent upon job performance, progress towards research goals, and funding acquisition.

This position is security sensitive; criminal background check conducted on selected candidate. Hiring decision is contingent upon applicant clearing background requirements.

Purpose

This position is a combination of administrative tasks for the lab, including ordering and organizational tasks, working with animal husbandry, assisting in animal procedures, performing histology and behavior work.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to animal husbandry and prairie vole and singing mouse colony management

  • Assist with surgeries to deliver viral vectors to prairie vole brains

  • Histology and other benchwork

  • Routine lab maintenance tasks; such as, ordering lab supplies and reconciling invoices/receipts

  • Assist other lab members with ongoing projects

  • Miscellaneous tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology or related discipline. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with behavioral neuroscience and small animal handling.

Salary Range

$32,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

Work Shift

  • Experimental protocols may require a non-standard work schedule. Work may involve long days and short weekends, working evenings, morning and/or weekends.
