Research Engineer I (Engineering)

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERIAN) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Responsible to Deliver a technology-based project using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Vision Systems.
• To actively support the system integration and testing required for the project.
• Research, design and implementation of algorithms
• To develop the code based on the architecture of the AI/ML model.
• Develop prototypes, conduct feasibility studies, design system specification and implement the solutions in real world applications.

Job Requirements:

• Minimal of bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Understanding of vision sensors such as cameras, Lidars etc.
• Prior experience working on intrinsic and extrinsic calibrations
• Experience working with Windows & UNIX Operating systems
• Experience working with NVIDIA and Intel RealSense platforms
• Experience in ROS and ROS2
• Experience in CAN/Ethernet/MOST and other vehicle communication protocols
• Experience in using OBDII, car harnesses and communicating with ECU
• Experience using localization techniques.
• Familiar with coding best practices and SDLC
• Experienced in solution design, documentation, and testing
• Security Standards and Communications tools
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite
• Proficient in using online collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira etc.
• Knowledge of industry trends and state-of-the-art technologies in the Autonomous Vehicles, AI and Machine Learning space.
• Any additional ML/AI or sensor technology related certifications are a plus.
• Demonstrate technical competency and independent solution thinking
• Work well in a diverse team of hardware and software developers.

• Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
