Research Engineer I (Computer Science/Engineering)

The Cyber Security Research Centre @ NTU (CYSREN) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I. 

The Research Engineer will design and deploy software applications using modern development frameworks such as NodeJS / Django and on Angular/React/Vue JS and deploy them as SaaS applications on cloud platforms. The application will involve the development of geo-spatial routing/scheduling algorithms and OpenStreetMap integration to facilitate real-time visualization. The successful candidate is also expected to develop responsive web & mobile applications and back-end as well as implement efficient techniques for responsive queries on large datasets using modern databases.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Software application development using modern development frameworks such as NodeJS / Django and Angular/React/Vue JS.

• Development of geo-spatial routing algorithms and OpenStreetMap integration for transportation related applications

• Development of responsive web applications with back-end, middle-tier, database intense queries.

• Deployment on SaaS applications on cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Detailed evaluation of existing applications to facilitate efficient bug fixing.

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines with at least 3 years of development experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on development experience in modern software development frameworks such as NodeJS / Django and Angular/React/Vue JS.

• Strong familiarity in the development of geo-spatial routing/scheduling algorithms and OpenStreetMap integration.

• Develop responsive web applications with back-end, middle-tier, database.

• Implement of complex and efficient database queries and procedures.

• Deploy SaaS applications on cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Development experience in mobile/windows development is an added advantage.

• Self-Motivated and quick learner who keeps abreast of latest trends and technologies.

• Strong team player, able to work within tight deadlines with positive attitude and desire to work in a fast-paced R&D environment.
