With our mask writers, we contribute significantly to the global semiconductor industry and enable the production of state-of-the-art chips that are used in powerful cell phones, PCs and data centers.Research Engineer – Algorithm Development (m/f/d)Our multi-beam mask writer requires highly optimized software that calculates large quantities of data to achieve the required precision in lithography. After an extensive introduction you will be developing software modules in collaboration with other team members. Your contribution will also extend our know-how in simulation and analyzing the physical effects of the calculated data and help us to push the results towards the physical limits.Your Responsibilities:

• Research and analysis of new approaches for the data processing of our multi-beam mask writer to secure technology leadership for future tool generations
• Development and definition of specifications and requirements of prototypes and products in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Physics-based modeling and simulation of the datapath of the multi-beam mask writer
• Optimization of existing algorithms and parameters based on simulations to ensure the continuous improvement of current tool generations

Your Qualification:

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar STEM field
• At least 3 years of professional experiences in the related area
• Experience in the development of models and simulations of physical systems
• Profound knowledge of Object-Oriented Python
• Experience with development in a Linux environment and familiarity with python libraries and frameworks like numpy, scipy, pytest, plotly, matplotlib, etc. is of additional advantage
• Professional background in one of the following fields is of additional advantage: Optimization and parameter identification or basic understanding of HPC strategies and methods
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to drive projects independently
