Research Coordinator II – HYBRID – San Antonio, TX

We are looking for a Research Coordinator to join the Community Information Now team locate UTHealth School of Public Health in San Antonio, TX 78229. In this position, you will work closely with other team members and respond to community data needs. This includes finding, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data on local community conditions and communicating that through reports, online data visualizations, and presentations. This is a hybrid position, with one or two days in the office and the rest remote.

Position Summary:

Community Information Now (CI: Now)  is a nonprofit local data and information intermediary that seeks to provide the data for “data-driven comm, unity change.” CI: Now data-related functions are contracted to UTHealth. This position is part of a small team located at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in San Antonio, CI:Now’s a longtime academic partner and institutional home.

The CI: Now team works closely with a wide array of local nonprofits, public agencies, funders, and collaboratives and is firmly positioned to assist local changemakers in making better decisions and taking more effective action by providing timely, neutral, use valuable. 

This position requires endent judgment and teamwork in health and human services-related data acquisition, integration, management, analysis, visualization, and communication. CI: Now’s portfolio varies depending on current local needs; needs can include integrating administrative data; com, unity report cards; program- and community-level outcome measurement; program evaluation; management, analysis, and visualization of largesignificantnistrative and survey datasets; and community needs and assets assessments.

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Researches extant data availability and acquires and compiles data for further processing and analysis.
  • Cleans, analyzes, integrates, and critically examines quantitative and qualitative data to identify important or unexpected patterns, relationships, and trends to communicate to partners.
  • Develops appropriate online or paper-based tables, charts, maps, dashboards, narrative summaries, or other products to meet partner need.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data, and develops and maintains metadata.
  • Drafts publications and presentations to communicate CI:Now’s work and findings to the local, state, and national field.
  • Assists in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and gov ernmental agencies; works closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects on the submission of grants.Contributes to performance management and evaluation
  • processes that measure project progress and impact.
  • Participates in establishing and sustaining internal project management infrastructure and processes to continuously deliver high-quality data and other products to the community and CI:Now partners. Other duties as assigned

 

 

Certification/Skills:

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred:

  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel), Google Workspace, and internet and literature searches
  • Skills with one or more of the following applications strongly preferred but not required:
  • R, SAS, or equivalent statistical applications
  • Tableau Desktop
  • ATLAS.ti, Dedoose, or equivalent qualitative analysis application
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL, or equivalent relational database application
  • ArcGIS or other robust GIS application

 

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

 

Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive: This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
