Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Coordinator will assist in coordination of intervention clinical trials of an investigational human papillomavirus therapeutic vaccine. This individual will screen potential subjects, consent subjects, and coordinate study visits. He or she will also perform laboratory tasks such as processing of human samples (blood, cervical cytology sample, oral wash, stools, etc.), conducting experiments, entering data, and performing data analyses. The individual is expected to perform clinical research in a manner which ensures that its integrity and quality meet requirements of the Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, federal regulations, sponsor guidelines, and institutional policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of research experience OR
Master’s degree plus one (1) year of research experience required.
Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory procedures related to the clinical trials including the processing of human samples (blood, cervical cytology sample, oral wash, stools, etc.), performing experiments, compiling results, data entry, and selected data analyses.
Recruitment of study participants by implementing effective screening strategies.
Participates in the determination of participants’ eligibility for a clinical trial.
Assesses and evaluates potential participants’ pertinent medical and historical information.
Participates in the ongoing informed consent process.
Coordinates the scheduling of required laboratory tests and/or exams.
Serves as liaison between study participant and PI or other research staff.
Assist the PI in complying with all regulatory and institutional requirements involved with the clinical trials.
May assist PI in preparing data and drafting grant proposals and manuscripts.
May require training of clinical research team, nursing and research personnel and support staff in and out of state.
