Research Associate Methodologist

Focusing on the two HELP Monitoring System tools, the position will participate in and contribute to HELP’s Early Years Program of Research in the following areas:

o Performing psychometric analyses on EDI and CHEQ data;
o Support the Implementation, Data Management and Analysis, Knowledge Translation and Reporting & Design teams providing expert guidance, ensuring integrity of data collection, analysis and reporting;
o Develop and submit peer-reviewed publications on EDI and CHEQ data;
o Develop new materials for presentations and other community/government engagement activities;
o Develop models and statistical procedures to explore the determinants of child development;
o Explore opportunities for incorporation of AI and machine learning into data analysis; and
o Support grant writing.

Candidates will hold a PhD in Statistics, Behavioural/Social Sciences, Psychometrics or Education Measurement and Data Analysis; Psychology; Sociology. Four or more years’ experience in a research environment and three years’ experience in statistical research and with experience in advanced statistical multi-level and longitudinal modeling techniques. As well, experience in using machine learning/AI and developing complex queries for data extraction and data manipulation; Familiarity with analyzing population health, administrative education and health datasets; Familiarity with theoretical frameworks on child development and/or social determinants of health issues is an asset.

Anticipated starting date of this position: April 1, 2025 or upon a date to be mutually agreed and ends March 31, 2026 (with the possibility of extension). The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
