Research Associate in Social Care and Society

The postholder will contribute to the main research analyses of active research projects.  We are particularly interested in recruiting someone with experience of research using qualitative interviews, on-line surveys, inequalities and vulnerable groups.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Based as part of SCS team at the University of Manchester with a requirement for occasional travel in the UK and Internationally (this is not currently possible due to the travel restrictions and COVID-19)
  • Develop and carry out high quality individual and/or collaborative research (including with colleagues in other institutions nationally and internationally).
  • Identify, and contribute to securing, future funding sources.
  • Support and engage in research methods that add to the knowledge/understanding of the subject area.
  • Regularly disseminate findings by contributing to or leading in the preparation of high quality publication materials for referred journals, presenting results at conferences (including national and international), or exhibiting work at other appropriate events.
  • Contribute to the development of a flexible and trained research workforce to carry out fieldwork safely, efficiently and rigorously in challenging environments
  • Ensure all research is undertaken according to good research governance frameworks
  • To contribute to knowledge exchange events and processes​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
