The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to recruit an experienced postdoctoral researcher with specialist expertise in qualitative methods relevant to consultation and engagement science. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent and a record of academic peer reviewed publications/research reports.
This full-time post is available for 9.5 months, and forms part of a team of experienced researchers (including clinical and administrative staff from the Project’s partners at St Catherine’s Hospice, Preston) working on the Patient and Carer Engagement Project in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (PCEP) which has been designed as a comprehensive mapping exercise to:
- Establish how patient and carer experience within palliative and end-of-life care across Central Lancashire’s community/out-patient and residential/in-patient services might be strengthened and expanded;
- Share best practice in capturing and using such information for patient benefit; and
- Identify opportunities, contexts and gaps in which the proposed PaCE toolkit (commission by NHSE/NHSI-PEoLC to generate effective, replicable methods for gathering feedback about the total patient experience across a locality) might be piloted and evaluated.
