The University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science Tritium Laboratory is seeking a Research Associate 2. The Tritium Laboratory provides low level tritium measurements for clients throughout the world. The incumbent must be hands on type who will perform maintenance and upkeep on the Tritium Lab analytical systems. The duties includes performing atmospheric, vacuum and electrolysis of water samples, fabricating custom laboratory equipment, operating low level tritium gas propositional counters and performing basic electronic maintenance and repairs.
A Bachelors Degree in Physical Science and 3 years of experience is required.
Knowledge/experience in the following are preferred: vacuum systems, electrolysis systems, high voltage systems, low-level radioisotope counting. Prior experience working ina general lab work, troubleshooting problems, general lab maintenance and repair, fabrication of custom lab gear, and basic electronics is preferred. Knowledge or experience of developing LabView software for instrument control and data acquisition is also preferred.
