Research Assistant/Research Fellow

  • Full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract based at RMIT City campus but may be required to work and/or based at other campuses of the University
  • Be part of research activities funded by the ARC Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology working with Dr Alberto Peruzzo in the Quantum Photonics Laboratory
  • Open to candidates with background in Quantum Photonics technology
  • Opportunities to conduct high quality research in the areas of quantum information processing with micro-nano photonics technology, with the capability to design and experimentally realise & characterise integrated photonic circuits.
  • Remuneration at Academic Level A ($71,770 – $97,349) or Academic Level B ($102,472 – $121,690) + 17% superannuation

About You

As an experience Research Assistant or Research Fellow, you will work independently as well as collaboratively contributing to the research and development in area of quantum photonics, possessing excellent written and verbal communications skills in delivering high impact research publications & new research initiatives, preparing & submitting competitive research grant proposals. In this position, you will have sound problem-solving and analytical skills to communicate and present research findings, concepts and knowledge across multidisciplinary team, colleagues and industry partners.

You will be responsible to manage and organise time effectively and efficiently to conduct innovative research in delivering high quality research outputs meeting the aim of the research projects and University commitment in research excellence.

Qualifications

PhD qualification in integrated nanophotonic fabrication, experimental quantum optics and/or condensed matter physics areas; candidate with proven excellent track record of published research work and publications in areas of quantum photonics

Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation)
