An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant at Swansea University Medical School.
Swansea University Medical School is a top 5 UK Medical School REF 2021) and has a vibrant research community which attracts prestigious research funding and exciting PhD students. Recent major research funding awarded to the Medical School includes British Heart Foundation, UKRI, HDRUK, ADRN, and MRC. Our community of students, researchers and partners draw on and benefit from the expertise of our international researchers and educators, and world class facilities.
This project will be carried out at the Centre for NanoHealth, a unique collaboration between academics across the University, Health Board (NHS) clinicians, and industry. This 1600m2 purpose build open access facility provides a technology and innovation base for industry and academia in Wales, UK and beyond.
We currently are looking for individuals with skills and experience in the rheological measurement of complex biological materials and analysis/modelling of viscoelastic data. The post is funded by the Medical Research Council Confidence in Concept Scheme, awarded to Swansea University Medical School.
The post holder will be based at the Centre for NanoHealth (CNH), at the Institute of Life Science, Swansea University. The main purpose of the job will be to conduct rheological measurements of samples of blood from healthy volunteers and to analyse rheological data using advanced models.
