Research Assistant in Cell Biology

We are seeking to appoint two Research Assistants in Cell Biology to join the Milosevic Lab at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of medicine. 

You will be responsible for carrying out experimental work in cell biology and neuroscience, with the aim to study mechanisms of neurodegeneration caused by defective endocytosis and vesicle acidification. You will be a member of diverse international research group, where you will have the opportunity to join a discovery team focusing on neurodegenerative diseases, and to develop a range of valuable laboratory techniques. You will also receive training and support to perform activities such as genotyping, cell culture, basic biochemistry and basic florescent imaging as well as to provide broader technical support to the group.

It is essential that hold an MSc degree in a relevant subject, together with some relevant previous laboratory experience, extensive practical experience in cell culture and stock upkeep and Experience of work without supervision after sufficient training. You should have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes and be able to demonstrate problem-solving, planning and organising abilities
