| Brief Position Overview | Under the supervision of Animal Research Manager and the Technical operations manager, the person in this position will perform duties relating to the care of livestock used in research and teaching. Responsibilities include: feeding livestock; cleaning livestock pens, assessing health of animals; assisting with research procedures; sterilizing supplies; decontaminating livestock pens and bio-hazard waste; supervise student employees, trains employees on all procedures and ensure compliance to all procedures; assist with collection of specimens, blood draws, operation of endoscopes and gas anesthetic machine Assisting in a laboratory preparation room sterilizing supplies and decontaminating contaminants; related duties as assigned. |

Position Details
| General Statement | The Department of Microbiology and Cell Biology (MCB) is engaged in research, teaching, and service. The primary mission of MCB is to perform basic and applied research to achieve a better understanding of animal health and disease. Under the supervision of the Animal Research Manager, the person in this position will be responsible for the direct care of all livestock used for research and teaching. The facility manager is willing to train a willing candidate that may not proficient in performing the responsibilities. |
