The Research Assistant performs recruitment of participants for research studies in concussion research.

The main tasks include:

• Participant recruitment

• Creating and posting study recruitment materials

• Consenting and enrolling participants

• Conducting concussion-specific assessments including neurocognitive, vestibular, ocular, symptoms, psychological health

• Entering research data and managing study databases

• Performing basic database maintenance

• Assisting in test scheduling

After training, the research assistant is expected to perform these tasks with minimal supervision. Candidates require meticulous record keeping and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must be able to collaborate as part of a team as well as work independently.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in biological science, kinesiology, psychology, or related field. Exceptional candidates will have research experience in human populations and/or working knowledge of clinical research methodology.

 
Prior experience with concussion research or other clinical/human subjects research/outreach studies preferred. Careful attention to detail, excellent organizational and computer skills required. Incumbent must be a team player.
