Position Summary
- Assist a team of Engineers by breaking down the project tasks, scheduling project milestones, and compiling, individual reports for the research sponsor.
- Support the design, development, and coding of the truck-shovel computer simulation model.
- Work with the Engineers to evaluate the development of mines, and asses the mining operations and, production schedules.
- Assist with the development of the computer applications required for assessing mine operation databases and historical data through statistical analysis.
- Under the guidance of the PI, provide analysis of the selection of mining equipment and its performance.
- Support four Ph.D. students and a CRD grant research.
Duties
- Duties of the position includes but not limited to design, development, and coding of a truck shovel computer simulation model to evaluate the development of mines, asses the mining operations, production schedules, and provide analysis on selection of mining equipment and its performance.
- Responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of engineers by breaking down the project tasks, scheduling project milestones and compiling individual reports for the research sponsor. In addition to the simulation model, developing the computer applications required for assessing mine operation databases and historical data through statistical analysis.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma
- Preference for candidates with a Computing Science or Computer Engineering background
- Strong computer programming skills, databases, and simulation modeling of industrial systems required
