We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the Division of Structural Medicine, Nuffield Department of Medicine. Reporting to Professor Peijun Zhang, the Principal Investigator, you will be a member of a research group with responsibility for the provision of research support for the research of florescence labelled HIV virus-like particles interact with the host nuclear complex. This job involves working independently and as part of a team to complete research projects and draw conclusions from analyzing microscope images and protein structures.

You will work closely with our senior scientists, focusing on the sample preparation, microscope image and data collection of the HIV VLP and nuclear complex. You will contribute to the group effort to collect and analysis data of HIV related cryo-electric microscope studies.

It is essential that you hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. structural biology, biochemistry and have prior experience of molecular biology biochemistry and wet lab work. Having an excellent communication skill, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings, is essential, and you will have an ability to manage own research and administrative activities.
