Department/Faculty Summary

The Edmonton Pediatric IBD Clinic (EPIC) team is a collaborative clinical research group focused on pediatric gastrointestinal diseases. This group is currently involved in a variety of clinical trials at the University of Alberta. This position requires a candidate who is motivated and willing to learn. 

Position Summary

The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the clinical research lead to complete data entry for multiple studies, organize chart and source materials as needed, and support the research team to collect accurate study data. The research assistant will provide both study and administrative support to the research team.

Duties

  • Perform data entry and manage study databases; ensuring accuracy of data for several studies
  • Organizes and prepares charts; case report forms; and materials for study visits
  • Ensures source documents are received and reviewed (for example: ECGs, lab work, hospital diagnostic tests)
  • Interacts with other research personnel on common and related projects.
  • Maintain and organize study related documents

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or some post-secondary education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong problem finding, resolution and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health science related field preferred
  • Experience in a research environment preferred
  • Training in good clinical practice preferred
