The Research Assistant will support a project on product redesign to achieve design for circularity objectives. The position will involve mechanical design, digital manufacturing and demanufacturing (e.g., 3D printing and other processes that remove material), and considerations of design for manufacture, assembly, and disassembly. Tasks may include research on mathematical optimization, computer-aided design, design methods for product upgrades and assembly/disassembly, 3D printing, mechanical design and CAD usage. This is a collaborative project with several faculty, researchers and students.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or similar.
• Interest in engineering product development.
• Proficient in programming with C/C++ or Python.
• Background in computer graphics, geometry modeling, and/or computational design is beneficial.
