Research assistant
There is a vacancy for a research assistant at the System Dynamics Group, Department of Geography, University of Bergen. The position is fulltime for a fixed-term period of 5 months. Total employment as a research assistant cannot exceed two years.
Research assistant is a recruitment position where the main task is to be a supporting entity to the academic staff in their instructional and research endeavors. The position will provide the opportunity to gain insight into scientific work and methodology.
Job description:
- Teaching assistance in GEO-SD304.
- Teaching support in several other GEO-SD courses.
- Administration and grading of exams in several GEO-SD courses.
- Development of interactive learning environments and massive open online courses (MOOCs).
- Design, facilitation, evaluation and analysis of group model building workshops (in person and online).
Requirements and personal characteristics:
- The applicant must hold a master’s degree in System Dynamics. The master’s degree must have been completed by the application deadline
- The requirements are generally a grade B or better on the Master thesis and for the master’s degree in total
- Applicants must have experience with teaching assistance in multiple System Dynamics courses
- Applicants must have experience with the design of interactive learning environments
- Applicants must have experience in developing MOOCs on the Canvas platform
- Applicants must have experience with online and in-person group model building
- Proficiency in both written and oral English
- Good administrative IT-competence
- Result oriented and ability to work systematically
- Good cooperation and communication skills

- Salary will be paid annually by NOK 480 000,- in a 100 % position according to Code 17.515/1020/salary grade 51 in the government salary scale .
