Position Summary:

This part time position requires the candidate to do:

• Electronics work to rehabilitate a data acquisition model
• Fluid system maintenance and upgrades for a heat exchanger loop
• Review of lab view program
• Review and re-construction of insulation systems
• Develop and perform benchmark testing to compare system performance to baseline

Qualifications:

Masters degree with experience on experimental work in artificial ground freezing and closed-loop geothermal energy;

A strong publication record;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Well-organized and self-motivated;

Knowledge of geotechnical engineering and soil characteristics;

Knowledge of programing and interfacing between software and hardware;

Knowledge of heating controllers and fluid systems;

Hands on experience with piping and tank insulation systems and their construction;

Hands on experience in wire  management and debugging electrical circuits;

Hands on experience with Swagelok plumbing components;

Knowledge of pumps, VFDs, temperature sensors and flowmeters.
