Research Associate for Gambling Screen Study
The Department of Marketing working with the Department of Psychology at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a part time ‘Research Associate’ to Dr Carolyn Downs. The role is for 31 hours per week, and is until 31 March 2023, with an anticipated start date of late September / early October 2022.
The research project will seek to understand the prevalence of unidentified problem gambling in people presenting for mental health support and is in collaboration with Lancashire and South Cumbria (NHS) Foundation Trust. This position forms part of an ESRC-IAA funded project. The Research Associate will have the opportunity to engage in research ethics applications, developing staff training materials, collaborating with NHS teams and will develop skills in data analysis and report writing as well as dissemination of project findings.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to demonstrate a passion for mixed methods research
- Have experience of participant recruitment and data collection in a research setting
- Be able to evidence data analysis skills
- Have a desire to develop their own skills and experience with a view to continuing in a research career (i.e., through the development of applications for PhD funding)
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
