Research Assistant (10 months fixed-term, part-time post)

The School of Sport, within the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing at the University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to fill a 10 month, fixed-term, part-time post.  You will provide research support to the Principal Investigator in relation to funded research on monitoring motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease to improve quality of life. The research focuses on the development of a device for home monitoring by people with Parkinson’s disease, using co-design. The role will involve assisting with, the recruitment of participants, administrative duties, Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and co-design activities, and primary and secondary data collection, analysis, and writing up. You will have a postgraduate degree in a relevant area and appropriate research experience. 

The School of Sport has wide ranging expertise in areas such as sport sociology, sports coaching, sports and exercise biomechanics, physiology, and psychology for elite performance and health, physical education, and strength and conditioning. Research within the department is characterised by excellence and breadth, and its quality was recognised by the recent Research Excellence Framework audit.
