Research Area Specialist – Intermediate (Psychiatry)

Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, responsible for the operation of a specialized educational/social science research area with one or more faculty members or managers within a recognized unit. Assists with research project tasks including recruitment, data collection, and the day to day operations of research projects. May act as liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.

 

Job Duties:

Plan, organizes, and conducts one or more small or moderately complex research projects according to plan; review progress and evaluates results.

Participates in ongoing decisions regarding study design, data collection, and methodology.

Serves as research study subject recruiter, interviewer, screener, and evaluator of candidates for studies.

Formulates research methods and suggests options for improving quality, identifies potential problems and recommends and implements solutions.

Consults with users to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements; collaborates in the development of new techniques and instruments.

Prepares reports in response to inquiries from performance sites or regulatory organizations under the supervision of the investigator.

Maintains project documentation for study sites including contact lists, correspondence, reporting documentation, and compliance data according to standardized procedures.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in an educational/social science or related field is required.

Experience:

Two (2) years of related experience is required.
