Minimum Position Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area and at least two years of full-time progressive work experience in data analysis, business intelligence, institutional research, assessment, and/or evaluation.
Special Conditions The department is especially interested in candidates with predictive modeling and data visualization experience, SAS programming abilities, and familiarity with the Banner student information system.
Work Schedule Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule

Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to explain technical and statistical information in an understandable way;
Creative intuitive and user-friendly dashboards
Knowledgeable of institutional research
Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
Descriptive and inferential statistics using software such as SAS (preferred) or SPSS
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work in a diverse population
Additional Position Information Please note that applicants that are selected for first round interviews may be asked to provide the following work samples: 1) a sample of code in SAS, Python, SPSS or other statistical program of choice; 2) a sample piece of work that highlights dashboard/visualization skills. We are considering remote/hybrid or on our beautiful Memphis campus.

Duties & Responsibilities Prepares user-friendly reports, data visualizations and summaries, including dashboards, narratives, tables and graphs. This involves first extracting data from multiple sources such as a data warehouse and the student information system and performing necessary data manipulation and transformation.
Duties & Responsibilities Supports and trains end users in live and recorded trainings; provides user assistance, documentation and direction for self-service reporting options for campus partners.
Duties & Responsibilities Responds to recurring and ad hoc data requests from university administrative and academic offices, and assists with external survey reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities Uses knowledge of quantitative research methods as applied in the social sciences, including statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, data collection, data coding and transformation, survey design, and sampling techniques to conduct statistical studies and support institutional research.
Duties & Responsibilities Updates the Office of Institutional Research Website.
