Registry Officer

Academic Registry is one of the University’s professional service departments, delivering a range of key administration and information services for students throughout their studies, from enrolment to graduation. We also oversee the University’s arrangements for academic quality assurance and enhancement and provide casework services for students.

Our people are our most important resource. We aim to enable staff to develop careers within the Academic Registry and across the wider HE sector, offering developmental and career enhancing opportunities. We embrace the University’s Core Values and the Association of University Administrators ‘Professional Behaviours Framework’.

You will work in partnership with Faculties, Professional Services Departments, and other teams in Academic Registry in the delivery of services. Registry officers are responsible for delivering work across the Academic Registry that underpin the student journey. Within different teams, specific activities will vary, but Registry officers will be expected to have a key functional responsibility and a liaison role in relation to that function and/or the faculty. We are seeking someone who is able to work as part of a team and with excellent written and verbal communication skills and organisational skills. These roles will be based within the Quality and Academic Services Team.

this role is Part time (0.6 FTE), temporary post until 15th December 2023.

Our teams have returned to a new hybrid model where staff will spend their time between home working and office working as appropriate. The principal location of work for these roles will be the Cardiff campus, although staff may need to travel and work at any of the three USW campuses.

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.  If you are an internal professional services candidate, you will be continue to be employed by the University of South Wales.
