Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings and weekends required

Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Provides leadership in identifying & enrolling undergraduate students. Serves as primary contact with local high school guidance counselors and principals, coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters, identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students in the region, and plans student receptions and counselor briefings, etc.

Additional Department Summary: The Transfer Regional Admissions Advisor assists the Assistant Director for Undergraduate In-state and Transfer Recruitment in developing and managing the admissions plan for recruiting transfer students in Alabama and actively recruits transfer and freshman students by visiting community colleges both In-state and Out-of-state regularly and providing current information about UA and its programs to community college counselors. The transfer advisor conducts regularly scheduled, on-campus information sessions at high schools and community colleges, including but not limited to Alabama Community Colleges. Also, primary recruiter for all Out-of-state transfer recruitment. Reviews and evaluates transfer applications in a timely manner to determine admissibility to the university based on established policies and procedures. Travels to participate in on-campus training and events as needed. Travels to community colleges in Alabama and other states to attend transfer and freshman recruitment events. Assists with in-state and out-of-state freshman high school recruitment and assists with other recruitment activities.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, communications, education, or counseling. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
