About the Role
Western Sydney University is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and skilled Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer in the contexts of day-to-day service delivery to business stakeholders and of providing senior technical skills to the University as it plans and implements next-generation ‘data fabric’ capabilities as part of a large Digital Acceleration programme.
The Data Warehouse Developer will be part of the Business Intelligence Team who are responsible for the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide Business Intelligence platform comprising of products such as Oracle 19c data warehouse, Wherescape RED ETL and data warehouse development, Alteryx, Argos Enterprise Reporting, Tableau and other off-the-shelf and bespoke tools.
The position will operate under the direction of the Senior Manager, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence and the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Enhancing the data warehouse schema design(s) to ensure the data warehouse continues to support University key decision making and other organisational priorities.
- The design, development, maintenance, and scheduling of ETL programs to populate the data warehouse.
- Developing small applications from time to time using Oracle Application Express or other web-based programming languages.
- Performance of minor database administration tasks in the non-production environments.
- Testing activities in accord with the agile methodology adopted by the team.
Skills and Experiences
The successful candidate must have previous experience as a data warehouse developer using an ETL or ELT tool, expert with the Oracle RDBMS and with writing and trouble-shooting advanced SQL and PL/SQL and previous experience in the design and development of small software applications or utilities. Experience in use of Enterprise Metadata Management tools, or similar, within a data governance framework would be highly regarded.

Remuneration Package:
HEW Level 8 $123,297 to $136,873 p.a. (comprising Salary of $104,187 to $115,659 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
