About the Role
The Office of Teaching and Research Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the dynamic, multi-disciplinary Chemical & Biological Sciences Technical Support Team based on the Parramatta South Campus.
This part time opportunity is available for 2 days per week, with the days to be determined by the work area, subject to teaching timetable during semesters.
As a Technical Support Officer (Chemistry), your primary focus will be ensuring that all teaching, research facilities and equipment are supported with the highest quality technical service in the various discipline areas supported by the Chemical & Biological Sciences Team. You will also provide assistance with research support to both staff and postgraduate students and community engagement activities as required.
Skills and Experiences
To be successful in this position you will have an undergraduate degree in Science with a major in Chemistry and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. You will also be client focused, have the ability to think innovatively, be a good problem solver with the ability to identify and implement self-directed solutions. You will also have demonstrated experience in the use and maintenance of complex equipment and instrumentation used in chemistry.
Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Parramatta South campus. However as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise. Hours of work for employees in Teaching & Research Technical Services may vary due to operational requirements in supporting teaching classes or research projects and further details are outlined in the position description.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 $35,097 to $39.752 p.a. (comprising Salary of $29,658 to $33,591 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
