About the Role

The School of Science are seeking a Research Officer to provide support for the “Targeting cancer heterogeneity with ultra-high field MRI and radiotherapy using deep learning” project funded via the Cancer Council NSW.  The position will interface between the Chief Investigators and Associate Investigators in the project located at University’s Campbelltown campus, the Ingham Institute, Liverpool Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, UNSW, University of Queensland and Auckland Bioengineering Institute.

In this position you will assist in the creation of an imaging/image analysis pipeline and will work with the local National Imaging Facility (NIF) node, hosted at Western Sydney University’s Campbelltown Campus, in the construction and testing of a fiducial marker system for the correlation of histopathology and MRI scans at clinical and high field.

You will play a key role in preparing and transporting specimens between the various imaging sites, mainly between Campbelltown and Liverpool while becoming familiar with both the MRI and histopathology preparations. As a variety of 3D printed marker systems designed by the local NIF node will be extensively tested as an essential element in creating the imaging protocol, you will require the ability to correlate histopathology with MRI scans, and liaise effectively between the groups conducting MRI and histopathology.

This is a full-time, fixed term role for 3 months based at the Campbelltown campus.

If this sounds like you, apply now and ensure you address all items in the selection criteria in your application.

Please refer to the Position Description for further information.
