The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) conducts interdisciplinary and collaborative research that addresses the cultural challenges and contradictions of an increasingly globalised, heterogeneous and technologically mediated world.  The Institute is committed to forging partnerships for cultural research and development with a broad range of organisations and communities in Western Sydney, as well as nationally and internationally.

The ICS is seeking Expressions of Interest for a casual Administrative Officer position, to assist the Senior Business Development Officer in a range of activities. The position is available for up to 3 months whilst we recruit for the role on a permanent basis.

The ICS is seeking Expressions of Interest for a three-month 28 hour a week casual Administrative Officer position, to assist the Senior Business Development Officer in a range of activities.  This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and utilise your skills and experience in event coordination.

Primary tasks include:

  • Co-ordinating with Academic and Professional staff and external partners to plan, co-ordinate and execute events
  • Advising event organisers on University policies
  • Co-ordinating guest travel and accommodation bookings
  • Designing and distributing invitations through email and social media and tracking RSVPs
  • Arranging venues and catering
  • Advising on technical logistics and completing WHS assessments
  • Managing and advising on development of event and activity budgets


This position will offer 28 hours per week for 3 months.

Remuneration: Higher Education Worker Level 5 – up to $57.48 per hour casual rate.
