The School of Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics & Child Health who will be responsible for teaching and continuing development of the Paediatric & Child Health course curriculum.  The appointee must be committed to the education of future medical practitioners through excellence in teaching and research at a tertiary level.

The Western Sydney University School of Medicine pursues excellence in education and research and aims to teach students in a way that is contemporary and highly relevant to their eventual careers. The Joint Program in Medicine with Charles Sturt University commencing in 2021 provides an exciting new development for our program.  Our affiliations with Local Health Networks and with Primary Health Care organisations in our regions highlight a dual aim of attracting current and future medical leaders to the regions, and in turn improving the provision of health care to the Community of Western Sydney and beyond.

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics & Child Health must have the ability to provide academic and clinical leadership in the field of Paediatrics & Child Health and take responsibility for developing and maintaining excellence in teaching and research.  Additionally, the position holder will be required to manage relationships with community partners, relevant professions, students, other stakeholders and affiliate hospitals.

The appointee must also be eligible to hold a clinical appointment in the Paediatric Department with South Western Sydney Local Health Network which would be negotiated separately.

This is a part-time (21 hours per week), 3 year fixed term appointment.

Remuneration Package:

Lecturer (Academic Level B) pro rata $76,687 to $90,490 p.a., (comprising, pro-rata salary $64,801 to $76,518 p.a., 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading).

Senior Lecturer (Academic Level C) pro rata $93,229 to $106,945 p.a., (comprising salary $78,859 to $90,582 p.a., 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading).

In addition to base salary a pro rata Clinical Loading will be paid as eligible.

The University reserves the right to appoint at Academic Level B (Lecturer) or Academic Level C (Senior Lecturer) depending upon the skills, qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
