Position Summary

The Faculty Recruitment and Planning department’s mission is to enable the school to hire top-tier scholar-practitioners who have distinguished themselves as exceptional educators, subject-matter experts, and industry leaders. The department operates within the Academic Services & Innovation unit of the school’s Academic Affairs division.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Faculty Recruitment & Planning, the Recruitment Specialist helps manage the sourcing, recruitment, and screening of a diverse pool of high-caliber candidates for full-time and part-time faculty roles and instructional positions across the School of Professional Studies.

Responsibilities

  • Sources, recruits, and screens candidates for high-volume, deadline driven, part-time faculty searches
  • Assists Senior Director with the creation and implementation of recruiting strategy across more than 17 master’s degree programs, certificate and visiting student programs, as well as pre-college study options
  • Builds and fosters relationships with Program Directors and acts as an internal consultant for sourcing and recruitment best practices
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to develop job descriptions by understanding required skills and background, the impact of the role, and the ideal fit for the team and university
  • Posts open requisitions to school’s application tracking systems
  • Executes external job postings and advertisements to support full-time faculty searches
  • Utilizes multiple channels to source and recruit candidates, which may include job fairs, Internet job boards, employee referrals, and personal sourcing efforts
  • Builds networks through industry contacts, job boards, and recruitment platforms (e.g. LinkedIn) to recruit the best candidates and build strong talent pipelines
  • Updates and maintains the recruitment database for all active and passive candidates
  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of scheduling logistics for interviews associated with full-time faculty roles
  • Owns tracking and reporting of recruitment metrics that measure trends around recruitment, staffing, and retention
  • Works with the finance team to process reimbursement requests associated with on-site interviews for full-time faculty roles
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or requested

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related experience required
  • 2 years related experience

Other Requirements

  • Experience in talent acquisition, human resources, faculty affairs, or related fields.
  • Must have a strong service-oriented attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be well organized, and have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Smart Recruiters or other applicant tracking platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of GSuite and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
