Recruitment Consultant

  • Full time, continuing opportunity for an experienced Recruitment Consultant, Casual and Labour Hire with a commitment to deliver exceptional client and candidate care
  • Utilise your strong consultative and stakeholder management experience managing temporary casual and contingent positions throughout the University
  • Base Salary $100,032 – $108,979 plus 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

We are in a period of exciting transformation within our recruitment team, striving to achieve a contemporary service uplift in line with the University’s ambitious strategic plan. As a result, we are seeking a Recruitment Consultant to seamlessly deliver an end-to-end and consultative talent acquisition experience for a diversified range of hiring managers.

As a trusted and strategy-focused advisor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the hire of professional casuals and contractors across the entire university – everything from IT, finance, administration, projects, compliance, marketing, communications and beyond. You will be joining a pivotal team to the University which will require you to have strong organisational and time management skills and a highly compliant focus to deliver fit-for-purpose casual and labour-hire recruitment services and provide relevant legislative advice.

This opportunity will allow you to use your knowledge and recruitment skills in a dynamic, fast-paced and high-volume environment. As a result, we are looking for a highly service -focused recruiter who will embrace and relish the challenges of working in a large and complex environment.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • drive the end-to-end recruitment process ensuring quality outcomes for candidates and hiring managers
  • manage the candidate experience from application to hiring stage and provide high levels of communication throughout
  • deliver expert and timely advice relating to recruitment policies, selection processes, labour market information and recruitment trends
  • utilise your highly developed stakeholder management skills towards managing a complex client base and collaborate with other HR Centres of Expertise and internal stakeholders
  • creatively attract top talent and building prequalified talent pools through innovative attraction strategies
  • identify and develop process improvement opportunities to better service your clients and candidates.

About you

  • working experience as an agency or in-house recruiter, managing end-to-end recruitment services across high-volume and fast moving casual or contingent workforce requirements
  • proactive consultation with leaders, delivering creative and contemporary casual and labour hire services within a multidisciplinary, complex organisation
  • change oriented behavior whilst ensuring compliance and data integrity is maintained
  • highly developed stakeholder management skills as you will be managing a complex client base and collaborating with other HR Centres of Expertise and internal stakeholders
  • flexibility in their organisation and planning skills to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast paced environment
  • outstanding presentation, communication and influencing skills to deliver messaging on a variety of channels to varied audiences
  • consistently high caliber recruitment outcomes and fostering of best practice recruitment methods
  • an agile and flexible approach that is able to pivot and contribute to overall team success
  • delivering expert and timely advice relating to labour hire recruitment policies, selection processes, labour market information and recruitment trends
  • the ability to identify process improvement opportunities to better service your clients and candidates.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
