About Waythrough
Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.
Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.
Make a real difference in your community
Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.
The Croft House is a 12 hour supported housing service located in East Molesey – Elmbridge borough of Surrey County.
We support both men and women who have a primary diagnosis of mental health illnesses and are subject to the Care Program Approach (both standard and enhanced).
People we support may also have difficulties managing tenancies and secondary issues such as substance use, or actively engage with professional recovery programmes like I-Access or Catalyst.
Applicants must be residents within the Surrey County Council boards, aged 18 to 64 at the point of referral.
About the Role
As a Recovery Worker, you’ll play a vital role in inspiring and supporting individuals to regain control and confidence in their lives.
You’ll work collaboratively with residents to create personalised recovery plans and help them achieve their goals — whether that’s improving daily living skills, managing finances, or accessing work, leisure, or education opportunities.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:
A caring, compassionate, and empathetic nature
Flexibility, creativity, and resilience under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping others achieve independence
No previous experience is required — full training will be provided. However, an understanding of mental health issues or lived experience would be an advantage.
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, within a weekly shift rota (including some on-call duties).
