Overview

The Exercise Medicine Research Institute houses an innovative, multidisciplinary and productive research team in exercise science dedicated to investigating the extent to which exercise can be employed in chronic disease management, principally cancer, to materially improve patient outcomes. The team’s unique convergence of clinical patient care, exercise medicine, and innovation in health interventions has underpinned their achievements in cancer research. Most notably, their multifaceted research program has been the direct result of seminal work in prostate cancer enabling direct translation of their research findings into practical outcomes for patient benefit and the design and implementation of clinical and community-based cancer survivorship programs. The Vario Health Clinic is the commercial arm of the Institute and provides research-informed, best practice allied health services and programs to the public.

Selection Criteria 

  • Demonstrated high level of administrative skills with attention to detail, accurately maintaining administrative systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated high level of skills in using standard software and database packages, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Pro in particular document formatting and collation
  • Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise numerous tasks with minimal supervision to meet deadlines and ensure targeted outcomes
  • Interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop good relationships and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with coordinating events (room bookings, catering, scheduling etc)
  • Experience in allied health reception duties (desirable)
  • Experience with committee support (desirable)

Benefits & Remuneration

This position attracts remuneration of $69,152 to $73,652 pa plus 17% superannuation. Part time arrangements will be considered by negotiation and the salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
