Job Details:

Purpose

Support research and development in the Signal and Information Sciences Laboratory (SISL).

Responsibilities

  • Developing algorithms and software applications in Python and C++ to support remote sensing, geospatial data analysis, computer vision, and ground vehicle navigation.

  • Developing code to support data validation and visualization.

  • Creating, training, testing, and deploying Machine Learning (ML) models to support project requirements.

  • Conducting software testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and verification to support development operations (DevOps).

  • Writing flexible and maintainable software code according to software best practices.

  • Improving legacy software code to meet new project requirements.

  • Reviewing peer-developed software to improve team designs and implementations.

  • Deploying and supporting software delivered outside of ARL:UT.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Geoscience, or other related discipline.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Experience using Python and C++ to develop software applications, particularly with applications related to data science, machine learning, computer vision, and data visualization.

  • Experience using software development lifecycle methodologies to design, develop, and maintain software.

  • Knowledge of tools to perform testing, version control, and documentation of code.

  • Experience using containerized applications in deployed environments.

  • Experience developing on Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Familiarity with using JavaScript and web development frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to contribution and enabling the entire team.

US Citizen. Selected applicant is subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at level appropriate to project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Geoscience, or other related discipline.

  • Experience using C++ and/or Python to develop and implement ML and Deep Learning model architectures, particularly in the fields of geospatial data analysis and computer vision.

  • Experience using GPU-accelerated ML and related frameworks.

  • Experience using JavaScript and web development frameworks.

  • Experience using Unreal Engine and VR/AR environments.

  • Prior work experience in professional or research-oriented software development.

  • Experience with Docker or other containerized application development platform.

  • More than three years of experience working in a computer science or data science field.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above.

Salary Range

$104,000-$174,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
